O’Marr Burnett, 51, was found badly injured after an assault in the Northwest District on June 12, according to police officials.

Portland police are now investigating the fatal assault of a man last week in the Northwest District as a homicide.

Officers found O’Marr Burnett, 51, of Portland badly injured June 12 in the 1900 block of Northwest Everett Street after responding to reports of an attack in the area, police said in a statement Friday.

First responders drove Burnett to a hospital, where he died two days later on June 14, police said.

Police declined to describe Burnett’s injuries or release any other information about the circumstances of the attack. They said only that investigators had made no arrest.
