Morning session complete: That concludes the morning session, with the first two heptathlon events the only ones on the schedule. The evening session will begin at 5 p.m. with the women’s hammer final.

Heptathlon high jump: Anna Hall wins the heptathlon high jump with a clearance of 5 feet, 11½ inches. It’s worth 1,003 points and is a season best for Hall, who was in seventh place after the 100 hurdles but now moves into the lead after two events with 2,077 points. Chari Hawkins is just behind, at 2,074, after clearing 5-10½ in the high jump for second place in that event. Cheyenne Nesbitt, Ashtin Zamzow-Mahler and Taliyah Brooks also each clear 5-10½ to grab 966 points. Rounding out the top five in the overall standings after two events are Brooks (2,046), Nesbitt (2,032) and Allie Jones (2,012).
