Portland will see temps rise into the upper 80s Tuesday before cooling down into the 70s on Wednesday and Thursday.

Portland scores another warm sunny day Tuesday before the region sees a cooldown and possible light rain Wednesday night into Thursday.

The National Weather Service says a ridge of high pressure will keep skies clear and help temperatures to warm 5-10 degrees over what we saw on Monday.

Portland’s clear skies will come with a high of about 88 degrees. Winds will be light at about 5 mph.

Forecast models show a 50-70% chance of temps reaching 85 throughout the Willamette Valley on Tuesday and about a 20-50% chance of reaching 90. The coast will stay cool with temps peaking in the mid-to-upper 60s.

The ridge will begin to break down and move eastward Wednesday allowing clouds to move in from the coast. Portland will see partly sunny skies and the daytime high temps will cool to about 76 degrees.

A weak front moves through the region Wednesday afternoon and brings a slight (10-30%) chance of showers. The best chance of rain will be along the Coast Range and in the Cascades in southern Washington.

Light rain may continue into Thursday morning. The weather service says areas from Salem northward have a 30-70% chance of light showers. In areas south of Salem those chances fall to 10-30%.

After possible morning showers, Thursday will clear to partly sunny. The high will be a cool 72 degrees.

Extended forecasts show weak ridging returning by Friday and temps warming back up into the upper 70s or low 80 starting Friday and continuing into the weekend.
