The shootings occurred within hours of each other in North Portland and Southeast Portland, police reported.

Two men are dead after separate shootings in Portland occurred within hours of each other Thursday night, police reported.

Officers responded to reports of a man shot at the TriMet MAX platform at North Interstate Avenue and Prescott Street at 8:30 p.m. in the Overlook neighborhood. They arrived to find a man dead at the scene, police said.

About three hours later, officers responded to reports of a disturbance and a shooting in the 5900 block of Southeast 82nd Avenue in the Lents neighborhood.

Officers again arrived to find a man dead, according to the police statement.

No arrests have been made in connection with either shooting, police reported.

Earlier this week, a North Portland shooting left a man dead. Thursday night’s shootings, if ruled homicides, will mark the 34th and 35th such deaths in Portland this year.

North Interstate Avenue is closed between Skidmore and Going streets, and Southeast 82nd Street is closed between Ramona Street and Woodstock Boulevard during the initial phases of the investigations, police said.
