Dave Wilcox

Bio: Wilcox, out of Vale High School, originally went to Boise Junior College (now Boise State) and became a junior college All-American. In 1962, he transferred to Oregon, where his older brother, John Wilcox, played on the Ducks’ 1957 Rose Bowl team. Dave Wilcox’s sons, Justin and Josh Wilcox, also played at Oregon. Josh Wilcox played tight end in the NFL.

Key achievements: Dave Wilcox played both guard and defensive line for the Ducks. Following his senior season, Wilcox played in the Hula Bowl, the Coaches’ All-America Bowl, and the College All-Star Game. He was named Most Valuable Lineman in the Hula Bowl. As a senior, Wilcox received third-team All-Pacific Coast Conference. Wilcox was inducted into the Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame in 1993.

NFL: The San Francisco 49ers selected Wilcox in the third round of the 1964 NFL draft. He played 11 seasons for the 49ers, twice being named first-team All-Pro. He was also named to seven Pro Bowl teams. Wilcox, in the 49ers Hall of Fame, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.
