Oregon softball added its second transfer of the offseason.

Former New Mexico State infielder Dezianna “Dez” Patmon, the 2024 Conference USA newcomer of the year, signed with UO on Thursday for her final year of eligibility.

“Dez is a big bat who can hit for power and average,” Oregon coach Melyssa Lombardi said in a statement. “She has the ability to change the game with one swing and we expect her to step in and become a presence in the middle of our order right away.

“I love the energy that she brings to the game. She has one year left and is very motivated to be a big part of this team and finish her career on a high note.”

Patmon hit .387 with 15 home runs and 43 RBIs in 55 games with 52 starts last season at NMSU. She also scored 40 runs and stole 14 bases.

Patmon began her career at North Carolina A&T, where she hit .310 with 11 homers and 35 RBIs in two seasons.

Primarily a designated player who played third base and left field occasionally lasts season, Patmon is the second transfer to sign with the Ducks this offseason, joining former Virginia Tech pitcher Lyndsey Grein.

“Oregon felt like the perfect fit from the start!” Patmon said in a release. “The culture and team dynamic built by Coach Lombardi and the entire staff is unlike any other program. The comfortable relationship formed with the coaches during my visit made me feel right at home. Their combined expertise and experience fill me with excitement for my future development. Additionally, the endless opportunities that UO has to offer is inspiring. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Duck family and privileged to compete alongside this incredible group of women!”
