Craig Hanneman

Bio: Hanneman, recruited out of South Salem High School, became a dominant three-year letterman (1968-1971) along the defensive line at OSU. Hanneman climbed Mount Everest in 2012.

Key achievements: Hanneman was selected second-team All-American in 1970 and first-team All-Pac-8. He was named team defensive MVP in 1970. Hanneman was inducted into the State of Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 2020 and the Oregon State Sports Hall of Fame in 1992.

NFL: The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Hanneman in the sixth round of the 1971 NFL draft. He spent two seasons with the Steelers and two with the New England Patriots, appearing in 47 NFL games during his career.

Oregon State left guard Gus Lavaka (Sean Meagher/staff)

Gus Lavaka

Bio: Recruited out of Kearns High School, Lavaka appeared in 45 games at OSU with 41 starts. According to Pro Football Focus, Lavaka allowed just nine sacks in four seasons.

Key achievements: Lavaka started seven games as a freshman and was named honorable mention All-Pac-12. Pro Football Focus and Campus Insiders named Lavaka to the freshmen All-American team in 2016. He started 12 games at left guard in 2017 and another 12 as a junior in 2018. The Associated Press voted Lavaka second-team All-Pac-12 after he allowed just one sack during his senior season.
