Travis Bazzana is a First-Team All-American.

It’s unanimous.

The Oregon State Beavers’ star scored his sixth First-Team All-American selection last week — when the College Baseball Foundation named him their lone honoree at second base — landing a top spot on all six 2024 teams.

Bazzana, who also earned First Team selections by Baseball America, D1Baseball.com, Perfect Game, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the American Baseball Coaches Association, is the sixth player in Oregon State history to finish a season with unanimous First Team honors.

He joins outfielder Michael Conforto (2014), right-hander Jake Thompson (2017), catcher Adley Rutschman (2019), left-hander pitcher Cooper Hjerpe (2022) and outfielder Jacob Melton (2022).

It’s a fitting conclusion for a once-in-a-generation player who produced perhaps the finest individual season in Oregon State history.

The junior from Sydney, Australia, hit .407 with 28 home runs, 16 doubles, 66 RBIs and 84 runs scored, while breaking multiple career- and single-season program records. He became the program’s all-time leader in home runs, stolen bases, runs scored, doubles, hits and walks, while also setting single-season records for homers, runs scored and total bases.

The prolific production earned Bazzana Pac-12 Player of the Year honors and helped him become a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy.

Bazzana is a potential No. 1 overall selection in the 2024 MLB Draft, which will begin July 14.
