On Episode 5, Gypsy also tells Mia that she thinks she might be pregnant, but no official announcement has been made yet. Gypsy and Ryan have, however, adopted a puppy named Pixie.
Why did Gypsy Rose go to prison?
Gypsy Rose Blanchard was a victim of her own mother who suffered from “Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another,” also known as “Munchausen syndrome by proxy”. Blanchard suffered awful abuse and made national headlines when she participated in the violent murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, along with her boyfriend at the time, Nicholas Godejohn. Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another is a form of child abuse, and is a mental illness defined by the Mayoclinic as “when someone falsely claims that another person has physical or psychological signs or symptoms of illness, or causes injury or disease in another person with the intention of deceiving others.”
