Triple digit highs, very warm overnight temperatures.

PORTLAND, Oregon — Wednesday will be pleasant, with brief morning clouds giving way to sunshine. Highs reach the low 80s.

But starting Thursday, July 4th. western valley temperatures pop into the 90s.

We’re calling Thursday afternoon through Monday, Weather Impact Alert days for the likelihood of excessively hot weather.

An Excessive Heat Warning is up for the western lowlands Thursday through Sunday.

Along with triple-digit record high temperatures, overnight lows will also be in record hot territory, in the upper 60s, possibly not evening dropping below 70.

Portland's forecast high of 105° is rare. It's only been that hot or hotter on fourteen days in Portland's weather records, going back to 1938. That's a frequency rate of less than .1 percent.

Be sure to hydrate your family, pets and plants and keep an eye on people around you who may be vulnerable to excessive heat.

We should finally stay out of the 90s around the middle of next week.

Have a great Wednesday.
