The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Portland metro through Tuesday with temperatures expected to reach 100-105 degrees.

PORTLAND, Ore. — With 100-105 degree temperatures expected until Tuesday, several Portland metro area summer school classes and camps have been canceled due to the high heat.

The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the area that lasts through Tuesday. High temperatures in the Willamette Valley and Southwest Washington are expected to reach over 100 degrees. 

"At such extreme temperatures, it can be very difficult to keep our non-air conditioned buildings cool and safe for staff and students," Portland Public Schools said. 

Below is a look at what schools and camps are closed until Tuesday, July 8 or have affected bus routes:

Multnomah County:

  • Portland Public Schools: Classes canceled. PPS summer programming is canceled at all non-air conditioned buildings. Programming at these air conditioned sites remain open: Faubion K-8, Franklin High School, Grant High School, Kellogg Middle School, McDaniel High School, and Roosevelt High School. More info here.

  • Clackamas County Children's Community: All ClackCoKids classrooms closed.
