PORTLAND, Oregon — The Excessive Heat Warning continues until 10 pm Tuesday. That’s when cooler coastal air finally edges into the western valleys and gets temperatures down to more reasonable levels.

Tuesday morning will be warmest of this heat wave, and that will help Tuesday become the hottest day, as Portland temperatures push to 104-degrees.

There’s also an Air Quality Alert in effect for the Willamette Valley until 8 pm Tuesday for ozone pollution.

Temperatures from Wednesday on will still be above average, in the upper 80s to low 90s through the weekend.

Record highs set Monday include 102 degrees in Portland and 105 degrees in Salem.
