Alanis Nadine Morissette was born in Ottawa, Canada and began learning music at the age of 6. She signed to a Canadian record label at the age of 14 after releasing her first single and later released a self-titled album, “Alanis”, in 1991. It went platinum and she later rose to higher fame with hits like “Jagged Little Pill”, “You Oughta Know”, “Hands Clean”, and many others. She has also made appearances in popular TV shows and movies like Sex and the City, Dogma, and more. On Sunday, August 4 she will come to Portland as part of her newest North American tour.
