Tom Holmes

Bio: Holmes, born in Ukiah, Calif., played at North Bend High School, where in 1990 he won the Class 4A championship in the shot put with a throw of 57 feet, 4 inches. He also wrestled in addition to playing football.

Key statistics: Holmes played as a true freshman in 1991 and recorded 35 tackles, four for loss. He missed virtually all of the 1992 season after severely injuring his shoulder in a motorcycle accident before fall camp.

As a redshirt sophomore in 1993, Holmes bounced back with 57 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks.

Then in 1994, he made his biggest mark with 64 tackles, nine for loss, and three sacks to earn honorable mention All-Pac-10.

In his final season, Holmes put up 66 tackles (fourth on the team) with 4 1/2 sacks and 8 1/2 tackles for loss. He also intercepted a pass.

Pro career: Holmes played a few seasons in the Arena Football League (1997-2000).
